Poisson multi-Bernoulli conjugate prior for multiple extended object estimation

چکیده
This paper presents a Poisson multi-Bernoulli mixture (PMBM) conjugate prior for multiple extended object filtering. A Poisson point process is used to describe the existence of yet undetected targets, while a multi-Bernoulli mixture describes the distribution of the targets that have been detected. The prediction and update equations are presented for the standard transition density and measurement likelihood. Both the prediction and the update preserve the PMBM form of the density, and in this sense the PMBM density is a conjugate prior. However, the unknown data associations lead to an intractably large number of terms in the PMBM density, and approximations are necessary for tractability. A gamma Gaussian inverse Wishart implementation is presented, along with methods to handle the data association problem. A simulation study shows that the extended target PMBM filter outperforms the extended target δ-GLMB and LMB filters. An experiment with Lidar data illustrates the benefit of tracking both detected and undetected targets.

A Study of Poisson Multi-Bernoulli Mixture Conjugate Prior in Multiple Target Estimation
Multiple target tracking (MTT) denotes the process of estimating the set of target trajectories based on a sequence of noise-corrupted measurements including missed detections and false alarms. Nowadays, MTT has found applications in numerous areas, such as air traffic control, autonomous vehicles and robotics, computer vision and biomedical research. In recent years, a significant research tre...
متن کاملPromotion time models with time-changing exposure and heterogeneity: application to infectious diseases.
Promotion time models have been recently adapted to the context of infectious diseases to take into account discrete and multiple exposures. However, Poisson distribution of the number of pathogens transmitted at each exposure was a very strong assumption and did not allow for inter-individual heterogeneity. Bernoulli, the negative binomial, and the compound Poisson distributions were proposed ...
متن کاملA.P.O. Rules are Asymptotically non Deficient for Estimation with Squared Error Loss
The problem considered is sequential estimation of the mean 0 of a one-parameter exponential family of distributions with squared error loss for estimation error and a cost c > 0 for each of an i.i.d, sequence of potential observations X 1, X 2 . . . . . A Bayesian approach is adopted, and natural conjugate prior distributions are assumed. For this problem, the asymptotically pointwise optimal ...
متن کاملBayesian change point estimation in Poisson-based control charts
Precise identification of the time when a process has changed enables process engineers to search for a potential special cause more effectively. In this paper, we develop change point estimation methods for a Poisson process in a Bayesian framework. We apply Bayesian hierarchical models to formulate the change point where there exists a step < /div> change, a linear trend and a known multip...
متن کاملA useful distribution for fitting discrete data: revival of the Conway–Maxwell–Poisson distribution
A useful discrete distribution (the Conway–Maxwell–Poisson distribution) is revived and its statistical and probabilistic properties are introduced and explored. This distribution is a two-parameter extension of the Poisson distribution that generalizes some well-known discrete distributions (Poisson, Bernoulli and geometric). It also leads to the generalization of distributions derived from th...
